The Hornet Baseball Program has a set of core values that everyone inside the program will strive to accomplish everyday including coaches and players.  The vision of this program is for everyone to understand the importance of why these core values are in place. By following these core values, I attend to build a program that understands the importance of WINNING.  Our goal is to WIN at everything we do.  We will simply WIN on and off the field.  To accomplish this, we must live by the following core values:  family, sacrifice, and discipline.   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Family

 

Be a great teammate to everyone everywhere.  Championships are won and lost in the locker room more than people realize. All families have arguments and disagreements — just like everybody. But because we care about each other, because we have a culture of being great teammates, we can quickly find solutions, put things behind us and move forward for the betterment of the team.  

 

Sacrifice

 

Sacrifice comes in many forms.  We must all sacrifice our personal time. Being on this team will demand a lot of it.  We must sacrifice our egos. How do you respond if you’re not playing, benched, or asked to sacrifice bunt?  Would you respond by saying “Coach, whatever is best for the team,” and then enthusiastically except your role or would you say “Coach, whatever is best for the team,” and then mope and complain to anyone that will listen.

 

Discipline

 

On and off the field discipline will be a key factor in our success.  When off the field, we must make good decisions as temptation will follow you wherever you go.  Bad decisions will ultimately lead to harming not just you but your team. On the field, we will work extremely hard representing our school with the utmost respect.
